Last week I blogged about the bright, bold colors of summer - specifically, orange. Another great color making an appearance this summer is purple.

This cap-sleeve scoopneck top from Banana Republic is “purnel purple” and was the inspiration for my new grape cluster necklace design. Click on the picture below for additional photographs.

I am now offering a line of fused glass rings. The ring pictured here has a 10 mm cabochon made with rainbow dichroic glass. The ring setting is sterling silver.

I also made a blue spiral dichroic glass ring with a unique square cabochon and a sparkly green dichroic glass ring.

I caught a few minutes of an interview with Stacy London (host of TLC’s What Not to Wear) on a morning news show this week, and she was talking about summer fashion trends. She mentioned that the new summer clothing lines are filled bright, bold colors, like this orange halter top from Banana Republic.

Each month the Etsy Glass Artists Street Team holds a creative challenge. We all create a work in glass based on a theme. This month’s theme was rebirth, so I created this black iridescent phoenix card guard. It’s totally not my normal style, but it was fun thinking outside the box! This is my brand new sterling silver slide pendant design, featuring a 10 mm dichroic cabochon set in sterling.

The pendant pictured has sold, but you can check out the other ones I made with blue mod, light purple, blue river rock and blue leopard print dichroic glass.

Handmade Dichroic Glass Jewelry - Winter 2008

I have been doing some more experimenting with the liquid glass I mentioned a few weeks ago in my post about slumped plates. I have been mixing colors on art glass with promising results, and I’m pretty pleased with how these two pendants turned out.

I’ve been wanting to show off some of the bridesmaids gifts pendant sets that I made earlier this summer, but I’ve been so busy working on opening my new online store that I haven’t had a chance to post them until now.
