Amy’s Gorgeous Posy Bling Ring

Posy Bling RingCheck out this awesome copper flower ring created by Amy of oblinaknit using one of my dichroic cabochons. It’s one of the many beautiful jewelry pieces in her Etsy shop (AND she also makes really nice handbags and knit hats and scarves).

I met Amy at a craft fair last year, and not only is she incredibly nice, but she’s an amazingly talented artist. See for yourself at oblinaknit.etsy.com!

Sexy Seahorses

I just bought a gorgeous necklace from a fellow glass artist with a style that I absolutely love. Natsuko, a glass enamel artist, created this seahorse pendant by fusing glass to copper.

Isn’t it pretty! She also makes exquisite enamel leaf pendants and starfish pendants. You can check out more of her work in her Etsy store: jewelrybynatsuko.etsy.com.

But enough about me… Let’s talk about Brian

I have to take a break from blogging about my new glass creations to blog about someone else’s new glass creations. Check out these glass earrings created by stained glass artist Brian Western:

ginkgo leaf earrings

Brian has taken recycling to a whole new level with these Italiana Peroni Birra Ginkgo Leaf earrings. He cut each leaf from the side of an Italian Peroni beer bottle and then expertly soldiered them together after what must have been quite a few beers. Very cool!

Glass Houses

I got a gorgeous gift of art in the mail today from Michelle, a dear friend and fellow glass artist (shoozles.etsy.com). It’s a mixed media piece using dichroic glass and other materials, like paper and fabric, and it sits in a deep box frame. Michelle talks about her creative process making art for the home on the Etsy Glass Artists blog.

A Special Stained Glass Gift

Family friend and stained glass artist Charlotte Mary of Freeport, Maine made this gorgeous stained glass frame for my wedding invitation. Charlotte combined a beautiful wispy green glass and clear glass with a flower relief for the frame. She added a soldiered flower with a sparkly center to compliment the flowers in the invitation. What a wonderful gift! Thank you Charlotte!

Me and Chance

I took a timeout from the glass work to snap a self portrait of myself with my dog, Chance. He’s an American Bulldog that I got at a shelter when I was an undergraduate at Oberlin College.

Chance frequently keeps me company in the studio while I’m working… until his daddy comes home from work, at which point he drops me like a bad habit. Turncoat!
