I got a gorgeous gift of art in the mail today from Michelle, a dear friend and fellow glass artist (shoozles.etsy.com). It’s a mixed media piece using dichroic glass and other materials, like paper and fabric, and it sits in a deep box frame. Michelle talks about her creative process making art for the home on the Etsy Glass Artists blog.

I caught a few minutes of an interview with Stacy London (host of TLC’s What Not to Wear) on a morning news show this week, and she was talking about summer fashion trends. She mentioned that the new summer clothing lines are filled bright, bold colors, like this orange halter top from Banana Republic.

Each month the Etsy Glass Artists Street Team holds a creative challenge. We all create a work in glass based on a theme. This month’s theme was rebirth, so I created this black iridescent phoenix card guard. It’s totally not my normal style, but it was fun thinking outside the box!
