Fused Glass Artisan Jewelry: Ebb and Flo

Her work is funky and fresh, and one of the most striking aspects of Amanda’s designs is her innovative use of glass. The jewelry in her Etsy store, Ebb and Flo, spans the range from an elegant wire-wrapped glass necklace to an edgy felted and beaded choker.

The actual use of them in a design came much later as I worked out how to incorporate them. When I see handmade glass for sale I’m usually first attracted by the colour or unusual colour combinations and then the shape,” Amanda explains, “I’m more attracted to orphans as they are so unique but I also get pulled in by sets of fused glass in a colour that makes me go Wow!”

It’s fascinating to try matching the fused glass cabs with other materials I have.”

Right now I have a Willow Glass cab and a piece of beach glass which match and I’m excitedly trying to wire them into something wearable!” She later created this intricately wired pendant.

Despite the large size of her sea glass collection, each piece of glass used in her designs is meaningful. “I really like my sea glass to go to a good home as it comes from where I grew up” Visit ebbandflo.etsy.com to give a good home to one of her fabulous handmade pieces.
