Last week I blogged about the bright, bold colors of summer - specifically, orange. Another great color making an appearance this summer is purple.
This cap-sleeve scoopneck top from Banana Republic is “purnel purple” and was the inspiration for my new grape cluster necklace design. Click on the picture below for additional photographs.

I am now offering a line of fused glass rings. The ring pictured here has a 10 mm cabochon made with rainbow dichroic glass. The ring setting is sterling silver.
I also made a blue spiral dichroic glass ring with a unique square cabochon and a sparkly green dichroic glass ring.

I got a gorgeous gift of art in the mail today from Michelle, a dear friend and fellow glass artist (shoozles.etsy.com). It’s a mixed media piece using dichroic glass and other materials, like paper and fabric, and it sits in a deep box frame. Michelle talks about her creative process making art for the home on the Etsy Glass Artists blog.

I caught a few minutes of an interview with Stacy London (host of TLC’s What Not to Wear) on a morning news show this week, and she was talking about summer fashion trends. She mentioned that the new summer clothing lines are filled bright, bold colors, like this orange halter top from Banana Republic.
I’m really excited about this new super-saturated color scheme. Yesterday, I created this bright orange pendant in the spirit of Summer’s fun colors…

Stay tuned for more pendants in hot Summer colors!

Each month the Etsy Glass Artists Street Team holds a creative challenge. We all create a work in glass based on a theme. This month’s theme was rebirth, so I created this black iridescent phoenix card guard. It’s totally not my normal style, but it was fun thinking outside the box! You can see more challenge entries on Flickr.

Family friend and stained glass artist Charlotte Mary of Freeport, Maine made this gorgeous stained glass frame for my wedding invitation. Charlotte combined a beautiful wispy green glass and clear glass with a flower relief for the frame. She added a soldiered flower with a sparkly center to compliment the flowers in the invitation. What a wonderful gift! Thank you Charlotte!

The social networking site that I created - We Love Etsy - was featured in a Wall Street Journal article about Etsy.com today. I was psyched to see that the article included some photos of my glasswork. Very exciting!
